To the Many Wonderful Clients and Patients I've worked with at MASH, This letter is to inform that I have left MASH to pursue other opportunities. I want to thank Dr. Roman and her family for opening up their clinic to me and entrusting me with the many wonderful clients and patients who have been loyal to MASH for the last 30 years. My time here has been inspiring as I have worked with you all to create health, balance and joy for the beautiful animal companions with whom we are honored to share our lives. My time in New England has been a great experience. I have enjoyed a game at Fenway thanks to the generosity of Dr. Roman's husband, witnessed many sports championships, seen beautiful fall colors, met some amazing whales at sea, and enjoyed beach-side sunsets on the Cape. I've learned that you cannot pronounce the town names phonetically. Although these moments have all left an impression on me I will remember, most of all, the potent personalities of the people of Massachusetts. During my time at MASH I have been privileged to have receive many doggie kisses, and kitty head butts as well as hugs of appreciation, affection, and also grief and sorrow as we have journeyed through all the ups and downs of life and health. You have opened your hearts to me, shared your stories with me, and entrusted me with your secrets and your pain. For this I am extremely grateful. While I have been at MASH you have brought me some very difficult and challenging cases. Although I have not been able to save or heal every one of your precious pets, please know that my efforts were always sincere and I have only wished the very best outcome for you all. I have formed many wonderful bonds during the course of my employment and leaving has not been an easy decision for me. I would only depart because it is time for me to reach for the next pursuit. Knowing Dr. Roman's ability to bring wonderfully talented individuals to MASH, I am sure that you will find excellent care with the practitioners who are still there or with any new veterinarians that are invited to practice in that special place. Please be receptive to them just as you were for me. We are all doing our best to be the clinician that you need us to be. Thank you all for allowing me to spend a little time in your lives and your hearts. I will carry the memories of you and your amazing pets with me always. Be safe, have fun and keep on sharing all the love you can with the animal kingdom and each other. Sincerely, Ayse Washington DVM

We are so very sad to hear that Dr. Washington has left. She was an incredibly knowledgable, kind and wonderful person to work with and our dog, Biko, is better off because of her.

I'm shocked and saddened at the same time. Losing Dr. Washington is breaking my heart. She took such good care of my beloved Bobo and still takes care if Chico and Kitty Girl. I wish you all the best Dr. Washington, you will be sorely missed, I trusted you so much, (tears). If your moving away, I pray you go somewhere warm for your winters.

Archie and I are so saddened to hear of Dr Washington’s leaving. She took a grumpy old not feeling well dog and helped him immensely( first normal Plechner ever!) She would always call back ( often at a time when she should have been home already!) She always had ideas to try , things to do for Archie who is shall we say a very complicated boy. She always had something for him and was never discouraged with my telling her” yep he’s allergic to it” Thankyou Dr Washington from the bottom of my and Archie’s heart

I am so saddened by this news - I have not yet had the courage to tell it to my Beagles ! They loved Ayse, as did Denver 1st. before them. Good luck with your new project, and the three of us will sorely miss you.

I am so sad to hear Dr. Washington you are leaving MASH. You took care of my beloved Ziggy and gave us choices and options for care the convention practices could not offer. I know in my heart Ziggy lived a longer more cofortable live because of your knowledge and expertise. Ziggy would kiss you all over your face which you so graciously accepted and knew was coming at our visits. You are a kind, caring, gentle person who our furry family members connected with. I wish you the best in your new advenure.

Wow! Surprised and very saddened. Dr. Washington, I credit you with elevating Tuuli’s health to where she is today. After so many years of being underweight, she’s at her heaviest due to your diligence of making suggestions and changes in supplements. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support as I shared the unending challenges I dealt with having a non-food motivated and noise sensitive herding dog (and encouraging me to remain positive after a change in my profession of over 15 years). Tuuli and I will miss your gentle, patient and caring nature. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors....

What a loss for MASH! I have only met Dr. Washington on an inital visit for my newly adopted pug, Axel. She was so gentle with him that she was able to perform most of the exam with Axel sitting in my lap! She made such a wonderful first impression on me and was looking forward to our next visit! I am sure that whatever her new endeavor, she will be very successful.

I'm very very sad to hear Dr. Washington has left MASH. It breaks my heart. She took extremely good care of my kids: Kacy, Jackson and Mittens. Without her Kacy and Jackson would not be here today doing wonderfully. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

Feeling bereft at the loss of Dr Washington's support and advice. She's been extremely kind and patient in helping me understand the big picture of health for Annabelle, Percy, and Sian. Her counsel and her personal energy are always in the background of my thinking as I solve problems that arise with each of them. She has earned my trust, and more importantly, she earned the trust of my furry companions. We wish her the best opportunities, and experiences in her new arena.

Oh no! I am so sad to hear this. But I am super happy for Dr. Washington. She was a great vet. She always cared so deeply for my doggies and she was so loving and supportive when I lost my Rufus. Now what? I have two doggies left. One is still under Mash's care and her health was really elevated by Dr Washinton's care. I am super excited for her. Everyone needs to be moving forward. I wish her nothing but the best and I hope Rachel's care will still under great care. Please let me know who will be taking over for Dr Washington. She was the best.

I'm so sorry that Dr Washington is leaving. I only just met her and she impressed us so much! She solved a long term complex issue that no other vet had been able to (including another integrative vet), and we are forever grateful. I was looking forward to thanking her in person. Dr Washington, if you read these, please know that we are eternally grateful to you and wish you the very best on your next adventure.

I came to see Dr. Washington for the first time last September when my kitty Sushi didn’t seem to be feeling well. It had been far too long since I’d had her at the vet but didn’t feel that there was anyone that I could trust to treat her holistically. She spent 1 1/2 hours with us and was very caring and thorough. She gave a diagnosis, did a procedure and made some suggestions, which I have taken, and Sushi has been fine ever since. I was so relieved to find a vet that was compassionate, solved the problem and who I had faith in.
