gather professionals searching for a better way to help their patients. One exciting part of the conference was the Medical Minds Summit, where professionals from all over the world were brought together to discuss the future of medicine.
There were CEs for IVAS and the Chi Institute as topics were covered in western, Chinese, ayurvedic and rain forest herbal medicine.
On May 20, 2019, at 11:30 AM, Sandy, an 8 year old unspayed Lab was presented unable to stand with a temperature of 100*. It was her first time at our clinic. MM were congested in sclera, and her gums were pale and tacky. She was unable to stand and lift her head. She was almost moribund. The abdomen looked enlarged. The owners were not sure what they wanted to do; They wanted her to be possibly be euthanized as she had progressively gone downhill. She had some lab work about 10 days before at another clinic and it had been within normal limits. They could not afford further testing and diagnostics, which I suggested we do. The other vet may have thought it was a pyometra as the dog was unspayed, but gave them the costs for the additional diagnostics and they did not have the funds.
